Escape To my cove®: New Kids Range By Snooze 

The shift from a child being a toddler to a ‘kid’ is quite profound. You spend what seems like forever catering to their every waking need, and then all of a sudden, your child begins to develop a stunning sense of independence that continues to evolve over the next many years.  

Part of supporting the transition to a more independent stage of life, whether it’s at age 4 or 14, is about providing your child with a bedroom where they can (like us) have some proper downtime and quality rest. A room they can go to that is inviting, where they are comfortable, where they can create, where they feel safe, where they feel happy, and where they feel most at home.  

As a parent or a caregiver, we typically want to buy the best quality mattresses, bedroom furniture and bedding we can afford. We also want these items to last as long as possible, as well as provide the comfort and support features our children need to get the best possible sleep. 

What is the my cove® range? 

We created the my cove® kids range to help take the guesswork out of buying quality mattresses, bedroom furniture and bedding for kids so you can create a space that offers your child everything they need to rest well and thrive. This thoughtfully crafted range is designed and made just for kids. We wanted each piece to be exceptional quality, beautifully made, and provide the right support and comfort levels as well as calming aesthetics. 

Mattresses 

One of the standout features of the my cove® range is its quality. Snooze has been a trusted provider of exceptional quality mattresses to the people of Australia for over 50 years, so naturally we wanted to make buying versatile kids’ mattresses and bedding easy and accessible. 

For the mattress range, we’ve created my cove® Flip, a dual-sided mattress offering two different feels in one mattress. Cleverly designed to evolve with your child’s changing comfort needs each of the sides has a different comfort feel. Whenever your child needs to change the feel of their mattress it’s easy to flip. This mattress is available in 2 variations, the first option is Medium/Firm, the type of mattress their body might need at 7 years old or under, and the second option is Medium/Plush which is typically best for 8 years and older. 

 The Scout is a great all-round mattress available in plush pillowtop, medium and firm feels depending on what stage of development your child is at. Both my cove® mattresses are made in Australia and feature spring support systems, premium comfort layers, and edge support to provide a stable seating edge and prevent sagging.  

Bed Frames

When it came to the bed frames, we decided to keep the colour palette neutral and the designs fresh, soft and modern to ensure the bed frames could remain relevant and stylish over many years. Gently curved shapes and plush textures characterise our Castle, Crown and Cloud bed frames are made to ignite imagination and  a little fun! 

Bedding

For the my cove® bedding, it had to be high-quality, breathable and suitable for all seasons. We chose a 100% Ingeo™ fibre with soft, unbleached cotton covers, which are lightweight, breathable and hypoallergenic. We also recognised it was hard to find pillows just for kids so we designed our my cove® Natural Plant pillow with two profiles, low and extra low, to suit smaller bodies. The Natural Plant quilt is lightweight, breathable and made to keep kids comfortable in all seasons.

Tips for encouraging independence in kids' bedrooms 

• Involve your child in the design process: Consider letting your child help choose their bed frame and/or accessories for their room. This gives them a sense of ownership and pride.  
• Create a cosy sleep environment: Use the Scout or Flip Mattress, with the my cove® quilt and pillow to build a comfortable and inviting sleep space. 
• Teach bed-making skills: Encourage kids to make their bed each morning to help foster a sense of responsibility and personal care. 
• Provide storage: Ensure your child’s room has plenty of storage to help them keep their bedroom clutter-free and relaxing.
